National Basque Festival

Produced annually by the Elko Euzkaldunak Club since 1962, the National Basque Festival begins with music and dancing, both important parts of the festival, and bertsolaris entertain with song improvisations in the Basque language. A parade of more than 50 floats, major contests of weightlifting, sheep hooking, sheepdog-working, and a running of the bulls are part of the festivities, that conclude with a picnic serving traditional Basque foods.
