For over three decades the Churchill Arts Council (CAC) has brought high quality arts and culture events to northern Nevada in the form of exhibitions, performances, film screenings, readings, and conversations. In addition to performing and literary arts programming, the organization hosts around six curated visual art exhibitions and artist conversations per year alongside their outstanding contemporary art collection on permanent display. The ChArts Store, open during all CAC events, is a changing array of artworks, prints, books, ceramics, crafts, ephemera, and other hand-crafted items created by regional artists and available for purchase. Publications of past exhibitions are available online and at the store, featuring high quality documentation of works included in the exhibitions alongside supplemental curatorial text and essays.
The home to all CAC exhibitions, performances, and activities is the Oats Park Art Center in Fallon, Nevada. The Center is an adaptive reuse of the historic Oats Park School designed by Frederick deLongchamps in 1914 and is included on both the state and national Registers of Historic Places. Season brochures including dates and times for all of CAC’s events are available for download on their website.
