Austin Museum

Created in 1992 by the Austin Historical Society, the Austin Historical Museum hosts permanent and changing displays of mining, ranching, railroad, Native American, and USS Lander artifacts. Objects on display are on loan or donated by citizens in and around Austin, Nevada. Additionally, the museum at times sponsors traveling visual arts exhibitions through the Nevada Touring Initiative – Traveling Exhibition Program. The Austin Museum is free and open to the public, but visitors should call in advance to make an appointment.
