Carson City

The Brewery Arts Center (BAC) is located in downtown Carson City. Constructed in the 1870s, the BAC contains two theaters, classrooms, meeting rooms, offices, a studio, an art gallery and an artisan’s store. The BAC provides art and cultural classes and presents music, dance, and theatrical performances. The BAC is funded through memberships, grants, donations and facility rental fees.

Elko Arts and Culture Advisory Board

The Elko Arts and Culture Advisory Board is an appointed body that serves as an advisory roll to the Elko City Council and also as a temporary Arts Council in the community. They will take on both rolls until funding becomes available to establish a true Arts Council. The EACAB represents arts interests in local government and helps facilitate public art projects and activities including The World Trade Center Memorial at City Hall, The Nevada Sesquicentennial Sagebrush in the main City Park and are developing the Elko Shakespeare Festival which will bring Elko's four theatre companies together in a joint effort to educate and entertain. The board also recently held the first annual Elko Mayor's Arts Awards program.

Arts For the Schools (AFtS) is a non-profit organization presenting cultural performances and residency programs for public school students and community members. Venues include a high school auditorium with fly tower seating 300 and other multi-purpose rooms. Arts For The Schools provides art education to more than 10,000 preschool and K-12 students including 1,898 low-income children through its two programs each year.

AFtS is a bi-state organization located on Lake Tahoe’s north shore that was founded in 1984 to inspire individuals and communities through the power of culture and diversity, and ensure that the arts remained an essential part of a complete education for the region’s children.
