Wild Horse Children's Theater presents Honk, Jr.

Wild Horse Children’s Theater presents Honk! Jr., the award-winning musical that transformed Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale of the Ugly Duckling into a modern musical comedy that will delight the entire family! Performances are December 8, 9,10,15,16, and17 (Fridays at 7 pm, Saturdays at 2 pm and 7 pm and Sundays at 2 pm) at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall , 511 W. King Street in Carson City. There will also be special daytime school shows for preschool, daycare and school groups on Thursday, December 14 (Please call or email to reserve space for school shows).
Honk! Jr. tells the story of Ugly, who is shunned because of his odd, gawky looks and struggles for acceptance and understanding from his family and the other animals in the barnyard. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry cat, Ugly must find his way, while his loving mother, Ida, searches for him. Along his journey, he not only discovers his true beauty and how to be comfortable in his own skin (or rather, feathers), but he also finds love and acceptance, regardless of what others think. Honk! Jr. with all of its wonderful humor, charm, and message of tolerance is perfect for audiences of all ages.
Executive Director, Carol Scott, says, Honk!, Jr. is one of our favorite shows! We love the message of acceptance that the musical provides, not only for the audience, but for the young actors themselves, especially because they are at an age when bullying can be at its highest. We hope the audience can leave the show knowing that inside all of us is a beautiful swan.”
Because of the themes of acceptance and tolerance, WHCT is partnering with the Carson City Library to present interactive anti-bullying workshops in November and December in conjunction with this production.
