Way Out West: Images of the American Ranch, Photographs From the Farm Security Administration, 1936-1943, a rich and personal record of ranch life of the period. Photographs in this exhibition are selections from a book of the same name by former Western Folklife Center Executive Director Charlie Seemann. Photographers in this exhibition include: Russell Lee (1903-1986); Marion Post Wolcott (1910-1990); John Collier, Jr. (1913-1992); Dorothea Lange (1895-1965); John Vachon (1914-1975); Arthur Rothstein (1915-1985).

Join us at the Western Folklife Center as we celebrate the exhibitions in our Wiegand Gallery, along with the downtown Elko Wine Walk. From 4 to 6 pm. Author and former Western Folklife Center executive director Charlie Seemann will be celebrating his new book and companion exhibition, Way Out West: Images of the American Ranch, Photographs From the Farm Security Administration, 1936-1943. Seemann will be pleased to sign their books, now available in the Western Folklife Center’s gift shop. Light refreshments will be available and the Pioneer Bar will be open.
