The Western Folklife Center is honored to present a new exhibition, Horses in the American West, which uses visual art and poetry to showcase the contributions of the horse to society and spotlights the important relationship between horses and people. Developed by the Nevada Museum of Art in collaboration with the Western Folklife Center, this exhibition is inspired by the classic and touching poem Equus Caballus, written by Texas poet Joel Nelson. Integrated into this exhibition is beautifully handcrafted horse gear from the Western Folklife Center's own collection.
