CCAI presents its exhibition, Wish You Were Here, by Las Vegas artist Susanne Forestieri at the CCAI Courthouse Gallery. CCAI will host a reception for the artist on Friday, October 6, 5-7pm. The exhibit will be in the gallery from October 6, 2017 – January 18, 2018. Forestieri focuses her work on the figure and abstract images. She applies her expressive, impressionistic style to diverse subjects including showgirls, dancers, family portraits, New York City street scenes, and landscapes.
The Nevada Artists Association gallery presents its 67th annual "Nevada Day Art Show", which opened October 22nd and will run through January 6, 2018. This is a judged exhibition that was opened to all the artists of the region. Awards were given in nine different media categories.
CCAI is delighted to present an exhibition by the art faculty members from Carson, Dayton, and Douglas high schools. The artists include: Rita Borselli, K.C. Brennan, Kara Ferrin, Michael Malley, John Martin, Zoe Shorten, Malaynia Wick, and Kelley Yost. The exhibition includes photography, sculpture, drawings, ceramics, painting, and mixed media.
CCAI announces its exhibition, "Inside and Outside the Lines", with artwork by artists Jonathan Farber and Susan Kotler at the city’s Sierra Room located in the Community Center. Kotler creates works using watercolors allowing for spontaneous and direct expression. She finds inspiration for her art in natural phenomena. Farber bases his drawings on a specific mark-making style. He uses patterns of redundant, diminutive marks that are evident on an individual basis and also combine with other marks to form a larger whole or image.
This exhibit includes a selection of some of the artwork that was in the summer exhibit of members work held at the Sahara West Library Gallery. The work includes functional and non-functional ceramic sculpture. In most of it, the viewer can see clean form lines and graphic colorful glazes.

In January of 2015, four artists who met at the University of Iowa while getting their MFA, spent ten days in the desert in residency at the Goldwell Open Air Museum. They returned in February of 2017 where they finished the work they began two years earlier.
