It’s a journey through Jazz and adult contemporary music as vocalist, composer, and four-time GRAMMY nominee Denise Donatelli and the 17-piece big band sounds of the Reno Jazz Orchestra perform two swinging nights of music and song in Reno and Lake Tahoe this September. It’s a trip through time with some favorites from the ‘20’s to the ‘50s and today with selections from Donatelli’s “Best Jazz Album of the Year.” “We encourage locals and visitors alike to bring their friends and family to a friendly musical performance that will ignite the best of jazz, blues, and today’s top tunes with the RJO and stage-stealing charisma of Denise Donatelli,” said Reider. The Reno Jazz Orchestra is a 17-piece contemporary big band based in Northern Nevada. The band was formed in 1997 by musicians who have performed with acts such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Natalie Cole and Luciano Pavarotti. Members have traveled with the likes of Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Ray Charles, Buddy Rich, and Buddy Morrow.
