The College of Southern Nevada Department of Fine Arts will host an exhibition of abstract photographic landscapes by new media artist and DePaul University Associate Professor of Art, Media & Design, Jessica Larva. Larva’s artwork uses natural horizon lines composed of clouds and sky to re-contextualize space and stability. “Jessica Larva: Leeward” will begin Friday, July 7 and will run through Saturday, September 9, 2017. Ms. Larva will participate in a Artist Talk and Reception on Wednesday, September 6, at 6 p.m. in room N203 on the North Las Vegas Campus.
Professor Larva divides her time living and working in both Chicago, Illinois and in Columbus, Ohio. She uses digital imaging, video, and installation to investigate the complex and unresolved “gray” areas between opposing or divergent concepts that exist in our daily lives. In addition to her position as an Associate Professor at DePaul University, Larva is a founding member of Fuse Factory, a non-profit organization to promote electronic and digital arts.
