Ms Townsend loves painting in acrylic paints, but drawing was, and has always been, her first love. She finds the contrast between the black of the ink and white of the paper most satisfying. The artist will often combine the pen and ink with a touch of colored pencils. More recently, the artist says, "My work has certainly evolved over the years and I find it so much easier to be colorful and humorous with my art, using bold strokes or thick paint." Her subjects range between tiny wild animals & birds, to larger domesticated & wild characters, all the while, referring to their pastoral setting, and peaceful environment. Julie moved to Las Vegas in 1978 and joined the Art Guild 4 years ago. There will be an Artist Reception Sat.March 17 1pm-3pm.
Open to the public 7 days a week- Upstairs from the lobby, on level one.
