Special Election 2011

Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District

Welcome to ELECTION 2011. This site is designed to assist Nevada's electorate in making informed decisions about candidates running in the Special Election for Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District seat on September 13, 2011. This U.S. House seat became vacant after Governor Sandoval appointed Congressman Dean Heller to replace John Ensign after he resigned from the Senate in May, 2011.

"We invited candidates running for this very important Congressional seat to share their views on public funding for the arts and the value of the arts for educational, economic and community revitalization, and cultural tourism," noted Tim Jones, NAC Board Chair.

"We strongly encourage colleagues across the state to review the survey results and take an active role in this Special Election on September 13, 2011."

ELECTION 2011 is supported by the Mary Bremer Foundation, Nevada Alliance for Arts Education, Metro Arts Council of Southern Nevada, Community Foundation of Western Nevada, Nevada Arts Council, Estipona Group and Trinity Applied Internet, and is managed by Sierra Arts.
