The Reno Film Festival's mission is to recognize the cultural benefit of film to personal and community well-being and to promote educational and entertaining activities in the Reno area that honor film and filmmakers."

The Reno Film Festival plays an important niche in Northern Nevada as it is the only complete festival experience within a single long weekend: educational seminars, filmmakers available to discuss their works, screenings of independent and classic films, hosting of the festival's own Indie Short Film competition, etc.  The 11th annual Reno Film Festival will be June 15-19, 2011.  Additional events throughout the festival's year (July-June) include the only Nevada screenings of the Manhattan Short Film Festival (Oct. 1 & 2, 2010) and screenings of the Oscar-winning short films (March 18 & 19, 2011), immediately following the Academy Awards broadcast.  Finalists from the Lumiere All Student Film Fest will screen May 18-20, 2011.
