VISION:

•To establish a vehicle to foster interagency dialogue, communication and cooperation.  (ARTS Roundtable)

• To support the national "October is Arts and Humanities Month" by establishing "October is ARTS Month in Mesquite".

• To maintain and publish a calendar of arts and arts-related events for Mesquite and the surrounding areas.  ('The ARTS in Mesquite')

• To produce an annual Greater Mesquite Festival of the Arts to celebrate all the arts by including artists, crafters and performers. It is our intent to develop this festival into a signature destination event for the city of Mesquite.

• To work with the City of Mesquite to promote and expand public art within the city and surrounding areas.

• To work with the City of Mesquite to envision and build a multi-function, multi-use art facility within the city.  (Mesquite Center for the Arts)

GOALS:

• To become the advocate voice for the arts community.

• To foster greater understanding and cooperation between the arts organizations.

• To support Public Art in the City of Mesquite and the surrounding areas.

• To establish an ongoing successful Festival of Arts Event.

• To establish and maintain an artist registry.

• To raise funds to support the arts community and emerging artists.

• To establish a materials grant program for emerging artists.

• To establish a scholarship program for emerging artists.

• To support arts education in the schools and in community programs.

• To provide field trips for every 5th grader to an art museum

• To provide field trips for every 7th grader to an artists studio

• To provide supplies for art classes

• To provide instruments for band members
