“Readers may know a side of the immense pleasure written language can provide; writing lets us deepen that same pleasure by experiencing what it is to be on the giving end. I agree with author Andrea Barrett, who said, ‘It’s hard to explain how much one can love writing. If people knew how happy it can make you, we would all be writing all the time.’” "Whether you’ve never written for fun in your life or you’re a practicing writer who wants a boost, the community workshop is the place to go. All the participants need is a pen, paper, and a willingness to put words on the page. Using short works chosen to suit the audience, we’ll borrow the structure or theme of those works as a jumping-off point for writing something new. Everyone will go home with a draft, an idea, or—I hope—a bit of inspiration.”
